The Easiest Way to Avoid a Costly HVAC Breakdown
Most HVAC breakdowns don't happen out of nowhere — they build up over time from small issues that go unnoticed. A clogged filter, a loose connection, low refrigerant, or a worn component can turn into an expensive repair or a full system failure if left unchecked.

Regular maintenance keeps your system running the way it should. It's the difference between catching a $50 problem in the fall and facing a $2,000 repair in the middle of a Colorado winter.

At Chestnut Mechanical, our tune-ups are thorough, honest, and done by people who treat your home the way they'd want their own treated. We service all brands and all equipment types — furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and mini-splits.

HVAC Maintenance FAQs
How often should I change my air filter?
We recommend checking your air filter every 30 days and replacing it every 1–3 months depending on your home. If you have pets, allergies, or live in a dusty area, change it closer to every month. A clogged filter makes your system work harder, raises your energy bill, and can lead to premature equipment failure. It's the single easiest thing you can do to protect your HVAC system between tune-ups.

How often should I get my HVAC system tuned up?
Twice a year is ideal — once in the fall for heating and once in the spring for cooling. At minimum, once a year keeps your system in good shape and helps catch problems before they become expensive.

Do you service all HVAC brands?
Yes — we service all makes and models including Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Rheem, Goodman, and more. If it heats or cools your home, we can work on it.

What if you find something wrong during the tune-up?
We'll let you know exactly what we found and give you a clear, upfront estimate for any recommended repairs. We never pressure you into work you don't need — if it's not urgent, we'll tell you that too.

How long does a tune-up take?
Most tune-ups take 45 minutes to an hour depending on the system. We'll give you a time window and show up when we say we will.

My system seems to be running fine — do I still need a tune-up?
Many HVAC issues develop silently — refrigerant leaks, cracked heat exchangers, and electrical problems often show no symptoms until they cause a failure. A tune-up catches these early, before they become emergencies.

What is the Comfort Plan?
Our Comfort Plan is an annual maintenance agreement that covers 2 tune-up visits per year — one in the spring and one in the fall. Members also get priority scheduling and 10% off any repairs. Plans start at $169/year for a single system
